Thanks for taking the time.

Haiti Earthquake

We are engaged in discussion with two church organizations that have relief workers on the ground in Haiti. It is our plan to provide returning volunteers with relief from the intense stress of the traumas they have witnessed. We are also offering training to them for use in the field with fresh trauma, and to help them sustain their own personal well being in the field.

First Responders and Trauma

The Personal Peace Foundation is actively working within a specific county in California on a program to roll out to first responders. We are seeking grant money to allow us to test this pilot project, and would of course welcome any donations - specifically directed to this cause.

Those that risk their lives daily and those who are confronted with continuous disaster typically have no method to work through the build up of deep trauma and critical incident stress. Unfortunately, divorce rates, abuse, addictions and other unhealthy behaviors are on the rise among those we look to for daily help and protection. Fire fighters, police, EMTs, crisis counselors, and many more on the front lines in every community deserve to have our help in knowing how to survive under constant stress.

Veteran Organizations

The Personal Peace Foundation is working closely with several veterans who have overcome their trauma issues through services provided through the Foundation.

They are members of various veteran groups, working with us to provide introductory workshops directly to veterans and their family members through these organizations. Our hope is that this project will yield numerous benefits and learning opportunities for us. We are in the process of creating spouse and family member groups that we will provide service to and also use as an opportunity to develop a film to assist them with establishing additional similar groups. We are in the process of establishing further a large training opportunity where we work with veterans and specifically train veterans and other practitioners offering additional insights in working with deep trauma.

Community Mental Health and Wellness Groups

Another focus for the Foundation is to develop strategies to involve local mental health, recovery and wellness centers in providing EFT and similar modalities to their clients. Toward this end we are working to train and supervise case managers who can begin to provide support to this population.

Churches

As many seek complimentary or alternative means to deal with "invisible wounds", new centers that can provide love, support and assistance are critical. Don Varnadore, co-founder of the Personal Peace Foundation, sees local churches as being in a perfect position to provide assistance to those struggling with trauma. Toward this end he is in discussions with leaders from various denominations and pastors exploring how the local church can provide this service.

Each church joining the program would commit not only some space to provide service but also staff of qualified volunteers to be trained in deep trauma EFT and/or other self-empowerment techniques.

Iraq Vets Stress Project:

(This program is not limited to Iraq Veterans - all veterans are welcome.) Veterans can join the study and receive free or low-cost care. For more information on this project, please read below.

From The Soul Medicine Institute:

The Iraq Vets Stress Project is an initiative of Soul Medicine Institute (SMI), a nonprofit research and teaching institution. SMI is currently offering 6 - 1 hour sessions, to those willing to participate in the study. The study utilizes EFT to aid with the release of combat and military stresses. By participating in this study, in addition to the chance to experience relief yourself, the results of this study will allow us to have EFT accepted by more institutions and agencies, so that your fellow veterans may have the opportunity to experience the same relief. EFT in action:

In the above clip (part of his 'Basic EFT Course' called 6 Days at the VA), Gary Craig works with Robert (a Vietnam Veteran) on his PTSD issues. If you listen closely you can hear how Robert goes from having an emotional response to a traumatic memory to what he calls a 'rational' response.
