Iraq Vets Stress Project: (This program is not limited to Iraq Veterans - all veterans are welcome.) Veterans can join the study and receive free or low-cost care. For more information on this project, please read below.

From The Soul Medicine Institute:

The Iraq Vets Stress Project is an initiative of Soul Medicine Institute (SMI), a nonprofit research and teaching institution. SMI is currently offering 6 - 1 hour sessions, to those willing to participate in the study. The study utilizes EFT to aid with the release of combat and military stresses. By participating in this study, in addition to the chance to experience relief yourself, the results of this study will allow us to have EFT accepted by more institutions and agencies, so that your fellow veterans may have the opportunity to experience the same relief. Projects being developed:

Phone /or Webcam Consultations for active duty military - overseas and stateside.

Family Support Groups across the nation, guided by experienced EFT Practitioners. The proposed Program is designed to provide education, training in emotional clearing, and group support to veteran's spouses and family members so that the emotional issues of transitioning from combat and symptoms of military traumas, can be recognized and many of them dealt with within the family and community.

In August 2008: Janet Hoffman, who has been writing comprehensive, visioning and strategic plans for 20 years, graciously donated a few days of her time, working with the Board of Directors to develop plans and strategies that reach well into 2010. She is the mother of an Iraq veteran, and dedicated to making a positive difference. Our heartfelt gratitude to Janet for all she has done and continues to do.

On June 26, 2008 several Foundation Board members and friends of the Foundation descended on the Coolidge Hotel in White River Junction, VT. for a 4-day event. Our intent was to offer help to Veterans in need and to demonstrate EFT's efficacy with wartime trauma. We worked with several Vets and made good connections with many others. Along the way, we also found something most unexpected: Our diverse group achieved (often through vigorous debate, group EFT and lively discussions) a complete galvanizing of the Foundation's purpose - a refocusing of intent so strong that we hope it will allow us to help the most people we can, as effectively as we can, for years to come.

What became apparent to us from working through the process of creating this workshop was the scope of debilitating trauma so many VETs face. We left White River with a renewed commitment to sharing the revolutionary technology of EFT as widely and experientially as possible - on a grassroots level. Not only is the Foundation gearing up to create empowering, skill-building training workshops for healthcare providers, caregivers and families, we also plan to offer EFTers confidence-building, experiential workshops using tried and true EFT skills for some of the most life-threatening and serious issues out there. Consequently, we are currently developing many types of introductory and advanced EFT trainings for many levels of need.

One of our goals is to use the revenue from these trainings to consistently fund low-cost 1-on-1 coaching for Veterans, families and others with limited ability to pay.

As for the Vets who participated (and those who only got a foot in the door with us), we continue to assist them locally and follow their progress.

EFT in action:

In the above clip (part of his 'Basic EFT Course' called 6 Days at the VA), Gary Craig works with Robert (a Vietnam Veteran) on his PTSD issues. If you listen closely you can hear how Robert goes from having an emotional response to a traumatic memory to what he calls a 'rational' response.
